We're back!!! After a fun and very busy holiday season, the Rubys are back and living life in London again. To start, here is a glimpse of Thanksgiving in London. Now, although the pilgrims left the queen's soil for a new life in our homeland, there are still opportunities for Americans to celebrate their heritage of Thanksgiving day over here.
Brian took the day off, and we attended a morning Thanksgiving service at St. Paul's Cathedral. The entire church was packed, and it was quite an experience to hear only our accent within the cathedral after hearing the Brits for six months so far--haha! Our colors and flags were presented by our military men in uniform, the U.S. ambassador read a letter from the President, and we sang songs of thanks. When we sang "America the Beautiful" I felt like everyone was kind of emotional! It's hard to realize how much we are blessed with in America and "home" until you are away.
Anyways, it was great and that night we attended a dinner with 20 Brits and a few Americans over by the Tower of London at a fellow Texas girl's flat. We went with my friend, Hannah, had a great time, but unfortunately forgot our camera. That Sunday, we had a little dinner for 6 with our new friends, Anne and Burr Farrar, and Christine and Charlie Lane Fox at their flat in Notting Hill. Everyone brought homemade food, and Brian and I contributed our first pecan pie and sweet potato casserole! We had such a wonderful time with everyone.
Enjoy the pics!! Christmas ones to come!
