(Happy?) Guy Fawkes Day

Hello there, and a jolly Guy Fawkes Day to you.
Fireworks shows will abound tonight in London. This is a day to commemorate for the English.

We may have fireworks and celebrations to remember when our own patriots won Independence in 1776, but the English today are celebrating the death of one of their own conspirators. As I have referenced before (hung, drawn, and quartered... please look this up if you haven't already), the Brits used to be pretty brutal over here back a few centuries ago, and I have to say, it's a little odd to me to celebrate the brutal death of a traitor--rather than possibly, the life or a patriot, or what have you. But, nonetheless, we're not in America anymore, and here, they are celebrating with bonfires at Westminster and throughout many parks. Take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Fawkes and learn about this colorful plot. Or, when you come for a visit (wink, wink), take the Fat Tire Bike Tour, and you'll get a slightly more light-hearted version.
