Hello! Sorry for the delayed update on.... last weekend--oops!
Well, better late than never, but we had to forego Hever Castle (for another time) due to shorter winter touring hours, and we went to the quaint little town of Winchester, England... home to one of England's oldest cathedrals and the alter at which Bloody Mary was wed. This church also boasts the longest aisle in Europe. And, not to mention, Jane Austen herself is buried in the floor of the church. w.o.w.
We enjoyed touring the cute town, wandering around the riverside area, sharing a Cornish pastry, attending the evening choral service, and we tried our best to stay warm. Have I mentioned that it's cold here? The weather has definitely taken on a permanent chill and it's getting dark nearly in the middle of the afternoon due to our northern proximity here in London on the global map. You better head to the parks by 3 .p.m at the latest and be gone by 4:30 when they lock the gates for dark! But regardless of weather, we are having London winter fun, too, and enjoying evenings spent fireside inside! :) Enjoy the pics!

Winchester Cathedral

(this perspective of the long aisle was actually from about the middle of the church!)

Here lies Jane Austen...

The walled fortress that used to surround and protect Winchester (notice the beautiful royal crest on the brick wall)
Beautiful archways

Cozy little inn and pub

Enjoying a hot Cornish pastry in the town center, in an attempt to stay warm :)
