Summer Reading

Due to a book recommendation from my mom and sis, I thought I'd write a short post about a must-read if you're looking for a good summer book (or really, any season). 'Sarah's Key' by Tatiana de Rosnay. Oh my. I tried to crack the cover and start reading when I was in Dallas earlier this month, and Ashlyn took the book away from me until she dropped me off at the airport for Atlanta. haha. 'Because,' she said, 'you cannot start this until you have time to read it all at once. It is THAT good.' Well, I waited only an hour after she put it in my hands. Once I hopped onto the plane to Atlanta on my way to Noelle's wedding, I dove into this story; it was read and finished way before I boarded the plane to Heathrow. It's amazing. Written by an English/French/American writer, it tells the tale of a hush-hush event that happened in 1942 in Paris and is intertwined with the tragedy of the Holocaust. Filming is going on now in France and the surrounding countryside, and it's set to be released as a feature-length film within the next year. Edge-of-seat anticipation. Yes, I have researched it extensively with a mild obsession.
My recommendation for this is given with as much sincerity and reverence as my post was last fall about Julia Child's beef bourguignon dish. Go. Get. The. Book.
Brew a cup of coffee and settle in for one of your best reads ever.

an ode to the beautiful city the book is set in... idyllic Paris
