25 Day Trips from London

Brian's parents gave us one of the best pre-departure gifts we received before hopping across the pond (and most used thus far, along with my rain wellies, of course): the book, "25 Day Trips from London" written by the travel experts from Frommer's. (I mean, what a dream to write a book like this).

The beautiful cover image of the Windsor Palace walk, rolling green hills, and royal castle in the distance was enough to make me anxious to board that American Airlines monster jet this past June. I can't get the image of the book uploaded, but you get the idea.

Inside, Frommer's has detailed 25 worth-while day trips from the capital city, with everything you need to know from distance from London, train travel departure and arrival times, and any costs, to the best sites, must-see attractions, to-do lists, and the most famous landmarks of each English destination.

We've decided to traverse England like it's our weekend job and visit all 25 destinations. So far, I think we've made it to 7. And we've even had friends from America join us along the way for some of them.

I'll begin posting our day trip adventures over time, one by one. Drumroll for the Cotswolds, Hampton Court Palace, Greenwich, Hampstead Heath, Windsor Castle, Bath, and Oxford.

Enjoy, and let us know when you can join us!!
