The holiday weekend found us by the seaside in Cornwall in the little village of Newquay. Author Daphne du Maurier wrote her English novels full of mystery in this region of England. Our 100-year-old hotel overlooked Fistral Beach, the surfing capital of the UK. We hiked all day, enjoyed views of the Atlantic, walked along the hauntingly beautiful moorlands, ate Cornish ice cream, wandered along the coastline, anticipated the surfer's daring moves, and enjoyed time relaxing together. And, of course it was chilly enough that we had to wear our fleeces all weekend to end the month of May.
