Baby Ruby received its first books last weekend. I can't wait to tell little him or her all about rabbits in waistcoats, Flopsy, Mopsy, and a duck called Jemima. The animal kingdom is so much more interesting (and endearing) from this point of view.
Come to find out, Ms. Beatrix Potter lived in South Kensington before moving to the Lake District, about a half mile from our flat.
And Baby Ruby will know all about the world of Ms. Potter, thanks this special gift from our friends and fellow Baylor Bears, Troy and Becky. Supper together last weekend over Lebanese cuisine here in London.
Other favorites on my list (and that I've already spotted in the bookshops here) include 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar', 'Good Night, Moon', and 'Winnie the Pooh.'

Just found your blog from "Happily Ever After with the Lancasters". My husband and I will be moving to England in March of this year--he will be finishing his pediatric rotation in medical school. I'd love to hear about must sees!!
Please feel free to email or visit our blog!
I found your blog from Elizabeth Ann's Recipe Box as I am fellow non-US resident not able to put my name in for the giveaway either:) Anyway, just wanted to say I stopped by and say hi. I love the quote at the bottom of this post! I am a former English teacher and LOVE children's lit. After being inspired by a trip to the Lake District in November (we live in Scotland), my husband got me the complete Beatrix Potter set. I have loved reading them to my 8 month old!
